Challenge: How to find focus when facing a complex combination of organizational issues and market changes.

Approach: Key issues report based on review of 5 year plan as well as interviews with board and senior staff. Summarize and articulate findings in terms of assessment / analysis, key questions, recommendations and next steps.

Results: Themes and specific recommendations from report continue to influence the direction of organization. Carta Nova retained to assist in implementation.

Governor’s Commission on Senior Services

Challenge: How to maximize the impact and effectiveness of the Commission.

Approach: Comprehensive evaluation and redesign of strategic planning process. Conduct self-assessment with respect to success factors for effective planning. Explore role of Commission in meeting stakeholders’ needs. Establish criteria for identifying issues, determining priorities, and evaluating opportunities.

Results: Consensus from commission members and staff that this was the best planning process ever for this group.
